Splice loss estimation principle

Splice loss estimation principle

The estimation of the splice loss is calculated based on factors such as misalignment, deformation, section cutting angle, and bubble presence of the core joint. The real loss is still measured by a dedicated light meter such as a light source, optical power meter or OTDR. Precautions when operating the fusion splicer

Pure alcohol refers to pure alcohol with a purity of 99% or more.
The cut fiber can’t touch anything
The cutting length depends on the fixture, cutter and user requirements
When placing the fiber into the V-groove, it should be as close as possible to the electrode.
The windshield, pressure plate, etc. of the fusion splicer should be lightly closed
